Tuesday, 3.15pm - A UFO was caught on camera over Ancaster at the weekend.
Colin Mitchell of Wilsford Lane, Ancaster, was taking pictures of the Roman Festival on his digital camera but didn't spot the sky craft at first.

It was only when he got home that he and his wife Elaine saw the mysterious object in their picture hovering over houses.

Elaine said: "We just noticed it when we came to look at the picture but we have no idea what it was.

"Maybe someone else can tell us what it might have been."

What do you think the mystery object is? A craft from another dimension? A top-secret military fighter plane? Or maybe some grit on the lens? Click here to let us know.

The UFO photograph featured in the recent edition – “Hovering” (?) near Ancaster Sunday 29th June- was probably the Lancaster bomber doing a fly past over Cranwell that afternoon. This was in honour of the prize winning RAF cadets being presented with their trophies that day. I was with the members of the RAF section of the King’s school CCF, and I was very proud to see these fine examples of country’s young people. I’m sure if someone checked the time of photo and time of the fly past they would be the same. What’s more interesting is why people jump to extraordinary conclusions for a minor mystery (a blob on a photo) rather than looking for an ordinary and more probable explanation. A few hundred years ago people blamed goblins or the little people if the cows stopped milking or the hens refused lay. It seems some of us will still jump at the chance to believe in technological fairies in flying saucers, given the slightest opportunity.

Are American producers right to drop the name of Guy Gibson’s labrador Nigger from the new version of The Dam Busters?
Yes - It is racist and offensive
No - it would be more accurate to keep the name
