Grimsthorpe Castle welcomes back its annual festival this month on Bank Holiday Monday, with thousands of visitors expected on August 25.

The Grimsthorpe Festival is fast becoming known and popular for its mix of music, attractions, foods and drink.

This year is no exception with an eclectic line-up of sideshow attractions, music on three stages and entertainment in the show ring.

Some of the mainstays of the festival return including the Battle of Britain Memorial Flights and the classic car and bikes show.

There are also the fun runs and dog shows allowing visitors to make their mark on the day.

Among the attractions on the day will be a fun fair, beer tents, Morris dancing, a land train, a chainsaw woodcarving display and the Lionheart Company of Bowmen.

In the show ring there will be a side saddle display team and the Rutland Falconry and Owl Display. a dog training agility display and Double Doors dancing demonstrations.

Food and drink are an integral part of the festival and visitors will be able to choose from a wide range of stalls and eating areas which will include a festival food court and the farmers’ market.

Bands will provide music on three stages - the Main Stage, the Woodland stage and the Courtyard stage.

Tickets ordered from the website cost £8, £5 for children aged 3 to 12, and children aged 0 to 2 get in free. A family ticket (two adults and two children)costs £25. To order tickets go to www.grimsthorpe

Entry on the day costs £10 for adults and £6 children, with a family ticket at £30. There is free car parking.
