It has been a remarkable year for the Swimarathon, fitting for its 25th anniversary.
This year has been a record-breaker, in more ways than one, with more people taking part, more lengths being swum and more money raised. The organising team behind the big event, made up of members of the Rotary Club of Grantham, are on cloud nine after such a successful year. Event manager Roger Graves said: “WOW! What a wonderful three days, it was absolutely unbelievable.” The Swimarathon was held once again at The Meres Leisure Centre in Grantham, with 266 teams taking part. They were made up of swimmers from schools, clubs and businesses. It is hoped the total raised will reach £40,000 this year, all of which will go to local charities and good causes.
