Why not give Dad an early Father’s Day treat?

At Grantham Carnival’s Party in the Park in Wyndham Park on Saturday, June 14, you can enjoy both the England v Italy football match and a night of live music.

This year, the theme of Party in the Park is the 80s vs the 90s, featuring CJ Hatt, Reinsta80’d and Ultra 90s.

The evening kicks off at 7pm and first on stage is CJ Hatt at 7.30pm, followed at 8.30 by Reinst80’d.

Bringing the musical element of the night to a close will be Ultra 90s and then the focus switches to World Cup football and England’s opening match, showing in the marquee on a big screen at 11pm.

Tickets to the event are £5, available online via www.facebook.com/granthamcarnivalevents

Rewinding to earlier in the day, the marquee will be filled with entertainment throughout. At 1pm, the final of the Battle of the Bands begins, following several week of heats at Chameleon music bar in Grantham.

Warming up the crowd before the competition will be JA Academy. Then at 1.30pm, the battle begins and continues until 4pm. At 2pm, there will be an interval, with entertainment by the Beth Creswell School of Dance and then the Grantham School of Dance.

From 4pm, music will be provided by the Carousel Roadshow.

And at 4.30pm, the big announcement will be made – the winner of the Battle of the Bands will be revealed, followed by a 20-minute set.

On the Sunday, the final day of Grantham Carnival weekend, the marquee will play host to the final of the Battle of the Bands competition for acoustic acts, from noon.

Interval entertainment will be provided once again by the dance schools and also Premier Cru.

At 4.40pm, the acoustic Battle of the Bands winner will be announced, followed by a 20-minute set.
