A barber shop quartet from King’s School, Grantham, is hoping to make an appearance on Britain’s Got Talent after a promising audition.
The C Sharps, four boys aged aged 17 and 18 who formed the group about a year ago, went to the ICC in Birmingham where producers of the show seemed impressed with them.
The boys have also recorded an album with 10 songs which is on sale now for £5 with £1 from each sale going towards the St Wulfram’s Save Our Spire campaign.
The quartet is made up of George Picker, Will Birch, Greg Mihill and Conor Morrissey.
They will be performing in The George Centre on Sunday (December 23) at 3pm where you can also buy their CD. Sunday’s performance will come just days after their performance at The Meres leisure centre alongside youth orchestra The Music Machine who were making their last appearance and raising money for Help for Heroes.
Will said: “We are independent of the school. It all started off as a joke, but then it became quite serious. At the audtion (for Britain’s Got Talent) it was the best we have ever sung. The producer asked us to sing again and he said he enjoyed it.”
The C Sharps’ CD is also available from Grantham Physiotherapy Practice on St Catherine’s Road or the Trust Insurance Group on Guildhall Street, opposite Argos.
