The very popular War Horse is given another live screening by the Reel on Monday, March 31, at 8pm.
Its last showing at the Reel was a sell-out and another is anticipated. Based on the book by Michael Morpurgo, this is the National Theatre’s stage version.
The story takes audiences on an extraordinary journey from the fields of rural Devon to the trenches of First World War France and is filled with stirring music and songs. At its heart are astonishing life-sized puppets by South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company, who bring breathing, galloping, charging horses to thrilling life on stage.
Next Wednesday (March 19) is another live screening, of the Royal ballet’s production of The Sleeping Beauty from the Royal Opera House. It starts at 7.15pm.
Also showing over the next week at the Reel are 300: Rise of an Empire (15), The Need for Speed (12A), and Non-Stop (12A, until Tuesday).
