Thames Road Community Centre came second in the South Kesteven Floral features competition this year, pipped to the post by a garden in Stamford.

The Grantham centre’s gardening club was presented with a certificate to mark their achievement.

Although they came second overall, the Thames Road group came first in the Olympics and Jubliee themed part of the competition, and also first for community involvement.

The gang wishes to thank everyone that helped, including Linda Graves, Isaac Newton Primary School, West Grantham Academy St Hugh’s, SKDC, Veolia, B&Q and McDonald’s.
