Talented youngsters who make up the Grantham School of Dance performed their latest showcase with great success on Saturday.
Organised by teachers Michelle Baker and Anita Yates, the dancers spent eight weeks preparing for the show, which was held for the first time in the new theatre at Priory Ruskin Academy and marked the endof the year’s activities for the dance school.
Around 200 pupils – the youngest aged two – performed dance numbers using a number of styles, including modern, tap, acrobatic, ballet and musical theatre.
The school’s Parent Teacher Association carried out fund-raising over the year to raise funds for purchasing costumes and props for the show.
Grantham School of Dance performs a showcase every year, and the money raised from ticket sales this year will be donated to the paediatric gastroenterology fund at Nottingham University Hospital.
Michelle said: “We were delighted with all the children and with all those who took part and helped out backstage.”
