St Peter’s Hill Players are laying on a treat for Halloween this year with their production of Terry Pratchett’s story Wyrd Sisters.
The play is based on Pratchett’s sixth novel in the very popular Discworld series which has been adapted for the stage by Stephen Briggs.
Pratchett’s story makes many references to Shakespeare’s plays, especially Macbeth, Hamlet and King Lear. The story includes a fool, a wicked Duke and Duchess, the ghost of a murdered King, dim soldiers, strolling players, unionised robbers, a land in peril and, of course, the three witches who stand between the kingdom and certain destruction.
This is a fun theatrical comedy for all the family and as a treat for Halloween the Players have reduced ticket prices for all performances. The play will be staged each night at 7.30pm from Thursday, October 31, to Saturday, November 2. Tickets cost £7.50.
