Talented Sarah Beswick, from Grantham, will sing at this year’s Christmas lights switch-on in Lincoln .

The 22-year-old said: “I have been asked by the Lincs FM team to sing at the Lincoln Christmas Light Switch On because I won Lincolnshire’s Got Talent 2012 and I performed at the Lincoln Show this year.

“I am singing a 20 minute set with a variety of Christmas songs to get people in the spirit and some recent pop songs.

“I am really excited about the Christmas show as I love singing Christmas songs. Once you start hearing them you know it’s Christmas and it is my favourite season.”

Sarah has been singing for 18 months and is supported by her fiancé John who is part of the team. Sarah said: “So far he has been the genius behind the music. He is the technician and makes sure every performance is as perfect as it can be.

“I aspire to be much more than a pub singer and events singer. I have had a year getting some great experience in the local pubs. I am having to take it a bit easy this year as I am five and a half months pregnant now, but will be straight back into it in April.

“Next year I am concentrating on doing some recording for my website www.sarah
beswick.com and youtube. I have been so busy this year I haven’t had time. So while I will be at home with baby I can get that done.

“In the long run there are many things that I have planned. When they will happen is a different matter. I have been in contact with some of the events organisers for festivals. I want to take part as a new artist in these festivals (for example Strawberry Fields) possibly the year after next.

“I am also saving up to get some of my own work recorded in a professional studio.”

The date for Lincoln’s Christmas lights to be switched on is Thursday, November 22.
