When glam rocker Alvin Stardust comes to the Guildhall in Grantham later this month, fan Mark Bayliss will be waiting with a special something for him to sign.

Mark, of Riverside in Grantham, has drawn a caricature of the ‘70s icon and hopes to have Alvin sign it after his performance in Grantham on September 20. And the caricature may bring a little deja vu to Alvin when he claps eyes on it, as Mark was commissioned by an Alvin fan some weeks ago to create one. The woman, from Surrey, took hers to a show in Alford, and took a photo of him signing the picture, sending it on to Mark.

Mark, 55, said: “It’s really lovely to have his signature on my work. I’ve had work signed by a smattering of celebrities over the years, but this is the first one with a picture of it being signed.”

Mark has his tickets to the show and hopes Alvin will stop to talk to fans at the end. He said: “I’ll just have a quick word and ask can he sign my caricature this time.”
