A FETE at Avery Lodge Care Home last Sunday raised £500 for the Resident’s Comfort Fund.

The Rainbow Summer Special had lots of stalls, a fire engine display, live entertainment and a raffle drawn by Grantham Mayor Mike Taylor.

Organiser Helen Brown was really pleased with how it went.

She said: “It was fantastic. The weather was perfect and there was even a rainbow.

“I’d like to thank everybody who supported it.”

Helen said it took a lot of hard work to get everything organised but the community support was fantastic.

She was particularly impressed by the amount of raffle prizes that were donated.

Now the residents have the task of deciding what to spend their comfort fund on.

Helen said: “They’ve been wanting to buy some garden bits. The residents will have a meeting then decide on what to spend it on.”

The fund-raising does not stop there as a Macmillan Coffee morning has already been arranged to take place on September 16 in memory of former resident Winifred Palmer.
