See thrilling urban sports at the Grantham Festival

A FANTASTIC weekend for all the family is expected when the first Grantham Festival gets under way on Friday, April 1.

The three-day event will feature entertainment for people of all ages.

The festival, centred around the Belton Horse Trials, has been launched to encourage people to visit Grantham as well as provide a weekend of fun and entertainment for people who live in the town.

Organisers have arranged a selection of entertainment for young people, including:

Parkour - The Parkour Generation Team will be running workshops throughout the day to coach all ages and abilities in this stunning and exhilarating sport.

Graffiti art - James Mayle of Image Skool will bring to life spray paint mural and canvas work in a fascinating graffiti workshop.

Mad bikes - a spectacular display of just what you can do with a mountain bike from the UK’s top mountain bike stunt and display team.

l The Belton horse trials runs from April 1 to 3 and this year is on the theme of Food, Fashion and Family.

Food will be the focus of the Friday, with demonstrations from local chefs planned throughout the day.

Organiser Stuart Buntine said: “We thought this a great opportunity to promote local chefs, their hotels or restaurants and the local produce.
