Belton’s great outdoors

A RANGE of special events at historic Belton House will appeal to the whole family.

Belton’s inspirational gardens are open tomorrow in support of the National Garden Scheme, from 10.30am. Normal admission charges apply.

And the gardens also provide the inspiration on Sunday, when there’s a chance to recreate their beauty in paint, pastel or crayon.

Basic art materials will be supplied for the Paint The Gardens session, which will be repeated on September 30.

It’s free to take part, but normal admission charges apply. It starts at 11am.

For families with an interest in nature, the National Trust property has organised a series of Wild on Wednesday events during August.

The sessions, from 11am to 4pm, will give visitors the chance to discover Belton’s bugs and beasties, go pond dipping and hunt mini-beasts.

No booking needed, and normal grounds admission applies.
