AVIATION heritage events will run in the area throughout the year, starting with a lecture by expert Phil Bonner called ‘Colonial Cousins’ at Branston Hall Hotel.

The lecture, at 7.30pm on January 27, will highlight the contribution made by British Empire aircrew who flew from Lincolnshire during the Second World War. Tickets are £5 including refreshments.

Following the lecture is the North Kesteven Aviation Tour on January 28, where people will get the chance to go behind the scenes at RAF Waddington and RAF Digby. Tickets are £30.

Then on February 18 at Washingborough Hall Hotel, Mike Hodgson will give a talk entitled ‘The Turning Points in Bomber Command’s War’.

Later in the year will be a symposium at RAF Cranwell, which includes a day of lectures and a tour of College Hall.

The aviation heritage events have been organised by North Kesteven District Council in partnership with the Royal Air Force.

Booking is essential.
