PLANNING is in full swing for this year’s Grantham Carnival, which will take place on the weekend of June 18 and 19.
This year’s theme is the books of Beatrix Potter, Lewis Carroll, Charles Dickens and Robert Louis Stevenson and organisers want to see loads of exciting costumes and floats in the parade.
Carnival committee chairman Roy Wright said: “Planning for the big weekend is going nicely with a parade theme that will suit all age groups and give plenty of scope for clubs, schools, nurseries and firms to enter a float and join the fun.
“The main arena will have its usual variety of non-stop entertaining acts and clubs and groups are encouraged to display their talent and show the town how good they really are.
“All in all it will be a fantastic weekend full of fun and laughter, music and spectacle - so plan to be there, or better still plan to be a part of it.”

The final of the contest will be held at the Guildhall Arts Centre in May.
