Grantham library will be the venue for celebrating board games and play.
Local libraries are joining thousands of others around the world in celebrating the popularity and power of games and play.
International Games Day is on Saturday, November 15, and the library in Grantham, as well as Lincoln, Mablethorpe and Stamford will be joining in the fun, offering a range of activities for people of all ages.
Between 9am and 3pm in Grantham library, members of Grantham Chess Club, Grantham Scrabble Club and Grantham Bridge Club will be on hand to challenge you to a game or help you learn how. There will also be a selection of board games for families to drop in and have a go.
Now in its seventh year, more than 130,000 people worldwide have taken part in the initiative so far, in 43 different countries.
Nicola Rogers, area manager for libraries west, said: “The idea is to remind people that libraries are about more than just books.
“Games have great social value and can be educational, and these events are an ideal opportunity to get out of the house and play together. So make sure you take the time to drop in and join in the fun!”
