Hop on the Music Train for an entertaining ride on the Poacher Line to Bateman’s Brewery in Wainfleet.
The next train will depart on Thursday, November 29, from Sleaford station at 6.55pm and call at Heckington (7.02pm) and Boston (7.21pm) before stopping at the brewery. The Music Trains provide an unusual venue for a variety of live music acts and a visit to the brewery in Wainfleet where passengers are offered a warm welcome and refreshments at their Windmill Bar.
The Music Train events are organised by the Poacher Line Community Rail Partnership to help raise public awareness of the Nottingham to Skegness Railway.
Entertainment on the train on Thursday will be provided by Hairy Mikers, an acoustic duo who play pop covers with a twist and modern folk songs.
Passengers catch the return train from Wainfleet at 9.10pm to arrive back in Boston at 9.37pm, Heckington at 9.51pm and Sleaford at 10pm.
On Thursday, December 20 there will be Christmas Carols on the train with a group of musicians from Sleaford Concert Band.
Normal scheduled service trains are used for the Music Train events between Sleaford and Wainfleet. A normal rail ticket is required for the journey (current train fares apply) and can be purchased as usual from stations or on the train. Passengers can take advantage of a GroupSave ticket that offers the opportunity for three or four people to travel at the price for two adults. There is no additional charge above the current train fare to join a Music Train event. Food and drinks not been purchased from Batemans Brewery should not be consumed on the Brewery premises.
