ONE of the newest bands on the Grantham music scene is getting a great reaction from the crowds at its gigs.
Toby Winter, Michael Taggart, Josh Mills and Hannah Chamberlain formed Accidents and Stars in November.
The pop punk band members, who play a lot of their own songs, place themselves somewhere between Green Day and Blink 182.
But they wish there were more venues in Grantham where they could play and get their music heard.
Michael said: “There aren’t that many venues. Short of going into the middle of the Market Place and playing we don’t know what else to do.”
But they will keep on working to get the band known in the town and beyond.
Michael said: “We all want to say, this is what we want to do for the rest of our lives but we’ve got to be realistic and not expect too much.”
And if the reaction to their tracks is anything to go by they should be successful. More and more people are turning up when they play gigs around the town and further afield.
Hannah said: “People seem to pick up on the lyrics and start singing along with us, it feels weird hearing other people singing your songs - but in a good way!”
The band is now working on an EP release, which it hopes will be available soon. To find out more search for Accidents and Stars on Facebook.
