A LANDLORD is hoping to have more live music at his premises following the revamp of the pub’s outside area.

Ray Mercer and Jackie Dempster, of The Fighting Cocks, Corby Glen, decided to improve the outside of the pub to make the space more useable.

Ray said: “We can put a marquee up now so it’s like having an extra room. The families don’t have to sit in the pub with the children and we would like to offer more live music.”

At the moment Ray only has live music every five or six weeks but he hopes that people will show interest so he can put bands on more often.

He said: “I’m a big supporter of having live music in the pub. We’ve had a lot of solo artists and four or five bands playing but because of the way the pub is we have to put the bands in the dining area. That’s the advantage of the outside area.”

The grand opening of the outside area starts at 6.30pm on Saturday and The Kitchen Sink Band are playing at 8.30pm.
