A BAND that prides itself on offering something ‘a bit different’ is playing at The White Lion tomorrow (Saturday).

F U S E D formed about two years ago, but this will be the first gig since gaining a new bass player.

Vocalist Simon Shaw, who also performs solo, said they like to challenge themselves with the music, but it does not take them long to pick up new songs.

He said: “The band are that good that they can play a song and within half an hour they can master it.”

As well as Simon the band is made up of Emma Beech on the drums, Simon Cole on lead guitar and Martin Jackowski on bass.

It is an exciting time for them as they are just putting the finishing touches on their first demo CD, which will be sent out in an attempt to get more gigs.

Simon said: “We want to do as many gigs as possible, we’ve done quite a few already.

“It’s a rock band but it really is fantastic music. People just stand and listen when we play. We’re not a party band but we would like to do more gigs.”

Simon is a big fan of the music scene in Grantham.

He added: “I think the music scene is fantastic but a lot of pubs aren’t supporting it enough.

“Not many places have bands on, we could do with more support.”

F U S E D cover a range of artists from The Stereophonics to U2, The Who and ACDC.

Their next gig is at The White Lion on Saturday. After that they are playing at the carnival.
