A medley of creatures, great and small, will be the attraction when The Grantham Singers put on a production of The Zoo and other animals in the town.

Playing on Friday, February 26, and Saturday, February 27, at the Guildhall Arts Centre, this promises to be great fun for young and old.

The concert features a full-length, semi-staged
performance of the comedy operetta The Zoo by Sir Arthur Sullivan and Bolton Rowe.

Then there is a change of pace in the second half which will feature a range of favourites from opera and the musicals with, of course, animals as the theme.

Performances will include songs from Die Fledermaus by Strauss, Cats by Andrew Lloyd Webber and The Jungle Book, the Disney Favourite, plus popular songs and duets from composers including Rossini and Flanders and Swann.

This is a great opportunity to visit much loved favourites and acquaint yourself with new pieces.

The Grantham Singers are one of the town’s oldest performing societies and celebrated their 60th
anniversary in 2013 with a NODA award-winning production.

Today they have around
40 members whose ages range from 16 to 70 plus
and they rehearse every
week from September to March under the guidance of musical director Elaine Bishop.
