Grantham Music Club has revealed who will be performing in its 84th season of six concerts from October.
The first concert on October 2 will feature Philip Robinson on piano. Philip is a familiar face as he was conductor of Grantham Choral Society for many years. He is accompanied by soprano Lucy Allen and contralto Helen Brackenbury, both former members of girls’ choir Cantamus.
On November 6, Equinox Saxophone Ensemble will perform. The line-up aims to present a diverse range of music with the saxophone family of instruments, from classical to jazz and folk.
The Christmas concert, on December 4, will feature the Mellstock Band, who play a unique blend of singing, instrumental word and spoken word encompassing west gallery harmony, traditional songs and possibly some dances and poems.
Bringing us into the new year will be rarescale, on January 15, featuring Carla Rees on flute and David Black on guitar. Carla was born locally and is a respected alto and bass flute specialist.
Nicholas Daniel on oboe and Julius Drake on piano will entertain on February 19, two illustrious musicians who have performed for the music club before.
And finally the Dussek Duo, made up of Douglas Hollick on forte piano and Eleanor Turner on harp, will perform the final concert of the series on March 19.
