Four bands will play a gig on Friday night aimed at reviving the music scene in Grantham.

The event is called Revival! and has been put together by Grantham-based Broken Britain Promotions.

Headline band are medlodic hardcore outfit In Arms from Sheffield. They are supported by Lincoln pop punk band The Recurring Nightmare and Grantham band Wharf and local solo artist Matt Grocott.

In Arms have shared a stage with While She Sleeps and Deez Nuts, both big bands on the hardcore scene.

The Recurring Nightmare are a local up and coming pop punk band. They have just brought out an ep which they will be selling at the gig. Wharf play a mixture of blues, punk and indie music and are just starting out while Matt Grocott is an acoustic solo artist from Grantham. His music sounds like a mixture of Johnny Cash and Frank Turner.

Arron Wiblin, of Broken Britain Promotions, said: “The aim of this night is to bring together Grantham bands and not-so-local bands to generate more support for each band to help them in their careers. We at Broken Britain Promotions are very passionate about music and love hearing new artists.

“The gig is called ‘Revival!’ as we are trying to revive the Grantham music scene and help local bands further their musical careers.”

Tickets cost £3 in advance and £5 on the door. For tickets call Arron on 07988 727824.
