The UK’s premier Madness tribute band comes to this year’s Party in the Park at Wyndham Park, Grantham, on Saturday, June 18.

One Step Behind will bring their authentic homage to Madness, creating a crazy, nutty atmosphere on stage.

The band, which has made a number of TV appearances and played at the 2006 Proms in the Park in Hyde Park, has won praise from original members of Madness, and Suggs himself.

They are the longest surviving Madness tribute band and have played the length and breadth of Britain and across Europe, including The Marquee Club and the Venue at New Cross.

Each member grew up as a Madness fan and has perfected their portrayal of their counterpart, striving to match every detail in music and appearance.

An example of their ability as a tribute band was at a gig at the G-Mex in Manchester played by Madness. Suggs walked up to the microphone and introduced the band as Madness – not One Step Behind!

They will be a welcome act to this year’s gig at Wyndham Park which is being put on by organisers of Grantham Carnival. Grantham band The System will be the support act.

Party in the Park comes after day one of the town’s Carnival weekend which promises to bring plenty of fun for all ages.

Tickets for Party in the Park cost £12.50 and are available from the Guildhall box office via www.guildhallartscentre.com orby calling 01476 406158. The music kicks off at 7.30pm.
