A TRULY festive atmosphere is the aim of staff at Belton House when they hold Christmas carols in the Ride on Sunday.
Local school choirs will be singing some of everyone’s favourite carols, and a variety of traditional songs, between 1pm and 3.30pm.
Also on Sunday, between 9am and 1pm, a ‘Mid-Winter Boundary Walk’ will run.
It is a six-mile walk around Belton’s parkland, looking at winter wildlife and habitats, and taking in the views across the estate.
The walk will be led by the property’s longest-serving member of staff, Richard Shores.
Then, a delicious Christmas lunch will follow.
Tickets for the ‘Mid-Winter Boundary Walk’ cost £23.50 and booking is essential.

Belton House has hosted a number of events in recent weeks to get families into the Christmas spirit.
Visitor services manager at Belton House Mary Kindred said: “We have laid on a varied programme of seasonal activities and events focusing on the Stableyard, garden and grounds that are sure to delight any visitor to Belton over the Christmas period.
“Our aim has been to create a festive atmosphere in a relaxed setting for visitors to take time out, meet up with friends and family, enjoy a leisurely Christmas lunch, take a stroll in the Gardens or parkland, browse for Christmas gifts and enjoy the best of Belton.
“What’s more, our events offer the perfect excuse to escape some of the hustle and bustle of the high street at what is so often a hectic time of year.”
