ST Wulfram’s will host an outstanding school orchestra next month for a special concert.
Uppingham School has a prestigious reputation and is considered to be one of the top music schools in the UK.
Pupils have performed in Hong Kong, New York and Paris. In November the school’s chapel choir will be performing for the Queen at the Royal Albert Hall for the Royal British Legion’s Festival of Remembrance.
Stephen Williams, Uppingham School’s director of music, said: “We are thrilled and privileged to be giving this first ever Uppingham concert in Grantham at St Wulfram’s Church. It’s a wonderful and inspiring space in which to listen to music.
“With many pupils residing in Lincolnshire this promises to be a memorable and entertaining evening for everyone.”
The programme will include Mozart’s overture from Cosi fan tutte and Beethoven’s Symphony No 1 in C Major.
The concert will be held on Friday, October 14. It will start at 7.30pm and tickets are available for purchase at St Wulfram’s Church in advance or on the night for £10 (under 16’s £5). There is also a special pre-concert supper at the Angel and Royal, tickets are £16. For more, call Richard Hill on 01476 561342.
