A GROUP of pupils of Walton Girls’ High School spent part of their summer rehearsing for a production of Les Miserable.

The keen pupils, all aged between 11 and 18, signed up to a summer school drama workshop at the Grantham school and worked hard to prepare for their version of the West End favourite.

At the end of the week, the talented lot presented an exciting show in front of families and friends.

Teaching assistant Kim Pell said: “Although the group was small, it was great to see them all develop as young stars.

“They have supported one another during the whole week and worked hard to produce a wonderful show.”

Performers were put through their paces each day and mentored by performing arts professionals to perfect their acting skills and develop their vocal potential.

Matthew Hewitt led the workshop and directed the production.

He said: “We have had a exciting week and everyone has worked tremendously hard. Well done.”
