The ULHT has been following a policy to create a Centre of Excellence at Lincoln and Boston for over 30 years and in my opinion it has failed spectacularly; does anyone living outside these two cities, given the choice, opt for treatment at either of these hospitals?

Mrs Jill Hopkinson’s letter (Journal, October 7) must have epitomised many readers’ feelings about the shameful way that United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has made Grantham’s hospital the scapegoat for the shortcomings of other Lincolnshire hospitals and ULHT’s own blatant incompetence.

The Journal said the temporary closure of Grantham’s A&E was due to a shortage of doctors at Lincoln and Boston and not at Grantham (and gave the figures that proved it).

I know a lot of time has passed since Dominos were asked to refrain from having guys hang around road junctions with huge advertising boards strapped to their body, but can I ask why it is that now we have Dominos occasionally having a guy in position wearing a board and a Papa Johns employing folks in Superhero costumes hanging around the KFC,Springfield Road andHarlaxton Road crossroads.

The recent report on the case whereby a Grantham man was given a few months in prison, to run concurrent to his nine year sentence, passed on him for a previous very violent offence, is an affront to the people of Grantham and the country.
