A punk band which formed only months ago has made it through to the final of a regional music competition.
The Sour Blisters - a three-piece Grantham band - have got through to the last stage of Battle of the Bands, to be held on July 27 at The Shed in Leicester, a popular music venue in the heart of the city.
To get into the prestigious final, they beat off competition from local bands in two rounds at The Atrium in Grantham. They will now go up against bands from across the region to win the ultimate title.
Philip Moreton is on vocals and lead guitar, Sam Marshall is on vocals and bass guitar, and Stuart Baker is on drums and backing vocals.
Stuart said the band is looking forward to hitting the stage at The Shed, a larger venue than they are used to playing.
He added: “There will be loads of people there and I hope the atmosphere will be buzzing.
“We’re really pleased to have made it into the final. We only started playing gigs in December, so to do so well in a competition like this after only a few months shows how far we’ve come.”
The Sour Blisters mostly play their own original songs, but they also do covers by bands such as The Ramones, Beastie Boys and The Undertones.
