Grantham pub golfers came out on top in East Midlands Masters

A quartet from the Huntingtower Arms pub were runaway winners of the Murphy’s East Midlands Masters tournament at Abbey Park Golf Club, Redditch, back in 1993.

Led by Belton Park’s Tony Davies (second from left) and Simon Pullen (right), the quartet battled their way round the 18 holes to lift four individual places in the top 10.

The pairings could not be separated on scores, both with 36, but Tony had the edge to lift the individual competition, with Simon in the runners-up spot.

Steve Railton (left) finished eighth and licencee Mike Quinn was seventh.
