lThe Journal carried a lengthy report on the sinking of the Titanic under the sub-headline “Appalling Loss of Life”.

lAmong the passengers on the Titanic were Mr and Mrs Carter, along with their son and daughter who had spent the winter hunting from Rotherby Hall. The Journal reported that they had been saved but that two or three of their servants had perished.

lGrantham Amateur Operatic Society, after a hiatus of two years, returned with a production of “Haddon Hall”. The performance was described as a “refined and delightful melody”.
