l The vicar of Croxton Kerrial church fulfilled a promise, made after taking choir boys and lady members for an outing to the seaside, to take choirmen and bell-ringers out for the day. They took the train to Nottingham.

l A girl was thrown from her bike as she rounded a corner in Stathern and hit a horse being driven from the station. She was taken home and recovered.

l A workman at a quarry in Ancaster was “engaged in wheeling clay” when he slipped from the plank he was standing on and suffered an ankle fracture. He recovered well.
