GREAT Gonerby Cubs were triumphant over Grantham 8th Cubs in the final of the Grantham and District Cubs’ League in 1991.

Great Gonerby came out on top in a seven-goal thriller but only after falling behind to a goal from Craig Cross.

Richard Mayne brought Gonerby level before Andrew Carter rounded the keeper to put the eventual victors ahead. Gonerby scored again before Mayne grabbed his second. Gonerby’s final effort resulted in an own goal and they took the cup with a 5-2 win.
