Memory Lane: Black and white photo was taken during a trip for staff of A. Chambers & Co in 1919

Have your say

Very little is known about this picture, brought into the Journal office by a reader who came across it while clearing through some boxes.

A caption on the framed photo tells us that it is a picture of a group of staff from A. Chambers & Co, a wool business. The group were apparently on a staff outing, with their families judging by the young faces in the black and white photograph.

The photo was taken on July 31, 1919. Interestingly, we also know by the sticker on the back of the frame that the photo was printed by the Picture Framing & Art Department at Boots The Chemist.

There are no names to go with the faces – do you recognise anyone? Do you know any more about the photo?

We would be keen to hear from you! If you can share any more details with Journal readers, call the newsdesk on 01476 562291 or pop into the office in High Street.
