FEW families can claim to be as passionate about the arrows as the Stimpson family.

Mum Betty Stimpson led the way with her six daughters - Shirley, Maz, Diane, Linda, Elaine and Marlene.

As you can imagine the ladies, pictured here in 1986, enjoyed considerable success competing over the years for the Earlesfield Hotel, Shirley Croft, Barley Mow, Joiners Arms and Waggon and Horses.

The team was formed in 1969 when three of Betty’s daughters asked their mum to set up the team so that they could play regularly together.

Betty had seven daughters in all, with only one failing to take up darts because of other commitments.
