A CLASSIC fairytale will be told in music by pupils of King’s School and Kesteven and Grantham Girls’ School.

More than 50 pupils from the two Grantham schools have teamed up to put on the Disney musical version of Beauty and the Beast.

The production will feature all the songs from the film, including ‘Be Our Guest’, ‘Belle’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast’, played by a live orchestra with 17-year-old Joe Beech as musical director.

Production director Alison Cunningham said: “The students have all rehearsed very enthusiastically and it is a privilege to work with so many talented individuals.”

Playing the lead parts are James Burrows as Gaston, Ossian Huskinson as the enchanted Beast, Lucy Keirl as Belle, Sam McCallum as Lumiere the candlestick and Jamie Cope as Cogsworth the clock.

Tickets are on sale for the performance, to run at King’s School from Wednesday to Friday, November 25.

Tickets are available from the King’s School office at £5 (£3.50).
