A SCOUT group in Ancaster has grown significantly in the last three years and has plans to get even bigger.

The 1st Ancaster group has expanded from just Cubs to include Beavers (6 to 8 year olds), Cubs (8 to 10 year olds) and Scouts (10 to 14 year olds).

This year the group has also become affiliated with The Royal British Legion Grantham branch.

The 1st Ancaster group was registered in 1974 but has never had a Beaver Colony.

Members of the group’s first Beaver colony were invested during a visit to the village church earlier this year.

It was one of many such visits the Beaver Colony hopes to make during the year as they explore their local area.

Group scout leader Jo Cawkwell said: “The 1st Ancaster Scout Group is looking forward to the future and hopes that all of the sections continue to grow and prosper as they have in the last few years.”
