Grantham Hospital training school opened 50 years ago
Student nurses Sandra King and Jane Arch are pictured taking an ECG recording of the heart at Grantham and Kesteven General Hospital’s new training school in 1969.
The school, costing £30,000, was set in its own grounds opposite the hospital on Manthorpe Road.
The photo was snapped on a hospital open day when visitors were also invited to see the nurses’ home, wards, pathology department, X-ray department and engineers’ department.
The many visitors included 380 children and 19 adults from 16 schools.
