Live music, real ales and classic cars, the village of Allington is set to host a fabulous weekend of entertainment on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, next week.

‘On The Green’ is a brand new event for Allington, featuring a two-day beer festival and live music on Friday, July 8, and Saturday, July 9, and a spectacular car show on Sunday, July 10, on the village green.

On the Friday, the event kicks off with some authentic rockabilly from Relentless in the courtyard at the rear of the Welby Arms.

On the Saturday, there will be four guest artists performing from 4pm onwards. They include Daniel Duke, who was hugely successful on The Voice, Lauren April and Cover2Cover.

The first act on stage on Saturday afternoon will be The Most Ugly Child - Nottingham’s country folk powerhouse that has captivated audiences across the UK.

Saturday will also see a sprinkling of local talent appearing on stage during the lunchtime session.

The pub will be providing a barbecue across the weekend and there will be a real ale bar with a wide range of local beers.

On Sunday, Allington’s village green will be the setting for a classic car show - with the whole area closed off to moving traffic.

The WI will be serving bacon butties and cream teas and there will be performances from Allington Morris and The Gloria Sunset Duo.

Tickets cost £12.50 for the weekend, £6 for Friday night and £10 for Saturday. Paid entry on Saturday is from 3.30pm.

Under-12s are free if accompanied by an adult. Sunday is free entry all day.

Tickets are now available from Allington Shop and The Welby Arms or you can purchase your tickets online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2561123
