Students at Walton Girls’ High School and Sixth Form are celebrating a bumper set of A Level results today.

96% of students achieved A*-E grades at A Level and their equivalents; 41% achieved A*/A at A Level and Distinction*/Distinction at BTEC Diploma Level; and 77% of students achieved A*-C grades.

There is a significant increase in students going to Russell Group Universities, as well as gaining highly sought after apprenticeships.

Caroline Saxelby, Principal, said: “I am very proud of all the successes of our individual students.

“Our results show an increase in students achieving their target grades and indeed some individuals have exceeded predictions.

“At Walton we pride ourselves on academic achievement, vocational success and inclusivity and this is reflected in our 2016 results.

“We look forward to seeing our Year 13 students using their successes to secure their future pathways and destinations beyond Walton.”
