There was a sea of moustaches at Genes Barbershop on Saturday as all those who participated in Movember in conjunction with the shop gathered to count up their sponsorship.
Forty men signed up to the challenge, raising £4,000 to help in the fight against testicular and prostate cancer.
Ellis Brown, owner of the Westgate barbershop, said: “We designed unique Movember t-shirts and all participants purchased one - that money also went towards the charity. Many thanks to Steve Scotney’s Ink Wear Uk for supplying the t-shirts.”
Prizes were awarded for best moustache; in first place was Martyn Allcroft winning free haircuts for a year, second place James Grant and third place Jason and Dale Dixon. The prize for most money raised went to Rob Dixon, winning six free cut throat shaves.
