Overnight resurfacing work on the A52 between Grantham and Bingham, due to finish today, has been extended until Tuesday.

Both carriageways on the A52 between Grantham Road and Castle View Road are closed from 8.00pm to 6.00am during week days while mechanical retexturing of the main carriageway takes place to increase the skid resistance, and to replace road markings and studs.

The work was due to finish today but is now expected to be completed by January 20.

Traffic travelling east on the A52 will be diverted at Bingham Interchange onto the A46 northbound towards Newark-on-Trent. At the A46/A1/A17 interchange traffic will take the exit south onto the A1 towards Grantham. At Barrowby traffic will exit the A1 onto the A52 where the diversion will end.

Traffic travelling west on the A52 will be diverted at Barrowby onto the A1 northbound towards Newark-on-Trent. Traffic will exit the A1 at the A46/A17 junction and join the A46 southbound towards Bingham. At Bingham Interchange traffic will rejoin the A52 where the diversion will end.
