Accident on bridge over the A1 as rain and standing water affect roads

Motorists are being warned about heavy rain and standing water affecting roads throughout the Grantham area.

The AA says an accident on the bridge over the A1 at Gonerby Moor has partially blocked the road and traffic is slow in the area.

It is also reporting heavy rain and standing water on the A1southbound at Colsterworth and on the nearby A151 in both directions.

Rain and standing water are also affecting the High Dike between School lane and the A52, South parade in Grantham and Spittlegate Level between the A1 turn-off and the Little Ponton.

Other roads in the district are affected. The Met Office warns of disruption on the roads. It says: "Heavy showers and thunderstorms may cause flooding and transport disruption in a few places."
