A DONATION in memory of a former Grantham Lion has been made to the Lincolnshire and Nottingham Air Ambulance.

The Lions club asks Vera Quick, wife of the late Ches Quick, to choose a good cause each year. This year, Mrs Quick decided the air ambulance should be in receipt of a £250 donation.

The cheque was presented to charity representative Barry Daff by Mrs Quick on Thursday during a Lions meeting.

Lion Godfrey Mackinder said: “Mr Daff told us the air ambulance is in need of funding, which we know because it requires donations to keep it going.

“It’s a good charity to support.”

Mr Quick died suddenly on a golf course in December 2007.
