A group of American students have been given a lesson in Grantham history with a tour of the town.

The students from the University of Evansville Harlaxton campus were given an introduction to the town with a ‘history walk’ led by Kevin Lawry, of the Rotary Club of Grantham.

Mayor of Grantham Ian Selby agreed to host them to tea and biscuits together with a talk on the historic artefacts that fill the Mayor’s parlour.

Mr Lawry said: “The mayor was very generous and made a great initial impression on these young undergraduates from the USA.”
