Staff and children at Bottesford Pre-school are celebrating following another ‘outstanding’ Ofsted report.
The pre-school, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary, received ‘outstanding’ across the board for the quality and standards of its early years provision.
Lucinda Tongue, who is joint manager at the preschool alongside Kim Doleman, said: “We are over the moon. A big well done goes out to all the staff who work really hard. We’re absolutely chuffed.”
The inspection, which took place on March 16, rated the pre-school as ‘outstanding’ in the effectiveness of its leadership and management, quality of teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare and outcomes for children.
The report stated that teaching at the pre-school is ‘consistently of a very high quality and worthy of dissemination to others’. Along with praise for the managers and staff who were described as ‘extremely well qualified’ with a ‘wealth of childcare knowledge and experience’.
Staff also received praise for the ‘wealth of activities’ that they provide, both within the pre-school and the neighbouring community. With the report stating that: “This helps to promote children’s positive sense of themselves and their place in the world.”
Observations of the children found that they are ‘very self-assured’ and ‘show high levels of confidence in social situations’.
The report also mentioned the parents’ high praise for the key-person system, to which they attribute how quickly their children settle in to pre-school life.
