Ancaster Preschool marks 50 years with rose bush planting

Staff at Ancaster Preschool have planted a rose bush in the village to celebrate the preschool’s 50th anniversary this year.

Gill Cowdell, who worked at the preschool when it first opened in 1968, was invited to plant the rose bush at the ceremony. Staff at the preschool said: “ This is our way of saying thank you for all the support for the last 50 years and to everyone in our community who have sent their children to our preschool and supported us with all of our fund-raising efforts.”

Parents were later invited to join staff, past and present, at the preschool on Ermine Street to reminisce about the last 50 years while tucking into tea and cake.
