CHILDREN from Ancaster Primary School have helped break a world record.

There were 117 Ancaster pupils among 114,277 schoolchildren and teachers from across Great Britain who smashed the record for the most people signing and singing a song simultaneously, confirmed on Monday by Guiness World Records.

National charity SignHealth organises the ‘sign2sing’ record breaker every year, which took placin February.

Steve Powell, chief executive at SignHealth, the healthcare charity for deaf people, said: “We are delighted to have broken the world record for the second year running and we are going to try and beat it again next year.”

The attempt is also a method of raising money for the charity. Ancaster youngsters raised £95 for the good cause.
