Huge thanks go to this kind group of fund-raisers who are backing the Journal’s Summer Sizzler Appeal.
Thanks to the efforts of Micky Stokes, Glynis Harrison, Josie Goldsboro, Sarah Needham, Mary Teesman and Barry Stokes, £121 has been added to the fund.
That amount secures a place for an adult/child on the all-expenses paid trip to Legoland Windsor on August 22, being organised under the umbrella of the Grantham Journal Children’s Fund, which supports families with a disabled child.
The group raised the money by holding a tombola in the Isaac Newton Shopping Centre on Friday.
Micky, a trustee of the Grantham Disabled Children Society, said: “We’re very proud to support the appeal.”
The entire GDCS group has given the appeal wonderful support, including fellow trustee Kaz Smith and daughter Nic. They are helping to organise a 1980s night at the Black Dog pub, in Watergate, Grantham, on June 13. As well as plenty of ‘80s music, there will be barbecue food and the drawing of a raffle.
